It’s hard to believe we’re almost finished with the 2014 Spring / Summer Baseball season. The weather clearly didn’t cooperate this summer leaving most teams with several games yet to be played. But it is time to start thinking about Fall Baseball as registration opens on July 7th for Fall 2014 sign-ups.
We’re going to be fielding a new 7U Machine Pitch team this fall with several of our 5/6u players graduating up. We expect as many as 6 players to be moving up from our 5/6u squad and we’ll be inviting friends and neighbors of existing players families before filling our roster through general registration.
So if you know of any boys who will be eligible to play 7U Machine Pitch next year, now is the time to introduce them to us.
Eligibility – 7 years or younger as of April 30, 2015
If you’ve already communicated to Dustin Ashby that you are interested in playing, you can go to the OCAC website here to get registered for the upcoming 7U Machine Pitch Fall Season. If you haven’t reached out to Dustin, please do so before registering.
We anticipate the season beginning in late August. Teams will play a minimum of 10 games played on weeknights. We will likely have weeks where 2 games fall within the same week.
Practices will be hosted on Sunday afternoon’s at Westhoff Park.
We encourage the boys to play multiple sports so if your son has a conflict with another sport during our Fall Baseball season that is completely understandable. We’ll have players who won’t be able to attend every practice or even every game as a result of conflicts with soccer, wrestling, etc. and that’s fine.
We appreciate the sensitivity to “over programming” the kids and can assure you the Fall Baseball season is designed to give the kids a chance to keep growing with their baseball skills while also getting exposure to the new format they will be playing next Spring. As the kids are entering new classrooms in August and getting familiar with new teachers and classmates, Fall baseball needs to be an outlet where they can see familiar faces and relax.
